Our Mission

We provide theatrical programming and education opportunities that celebrate and express the diversity of the community, offering both performers and audience participants a professional and memorable theatrical experience.

It is the mission of Cookeville Theatre Company, a not-for-profit corporation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, to promote and facilitate the arts in Cookeville, Tennessee; provide for increased theater and performing arts education; promote and aid the creative skills and cultural welfare of the community; feature theatrical readings, theater productions and talent.

We aim to provide quality theater and cultural and educational programming that provide a forum for creative and personal expression by and for the residents of Cookeville, Tennessee, enhancing the lives of local residents and visitors, and utilizing the dedication of community volunteers to make productions affordable and accessible to the local community. Our focus includes published and new works, theatrical instruction and training, and improvisational comedy theater and education.

Each member of our board and organization holds a true passion for and dedication to performing arts, and together we hope to work alongside existing theatrical groups to make Cookeville a theatrical destination through performance, festivals, and unique educational offerings.
