Cookeville Theatre Company to present a  Musical Theatre Workshop 101

Cookeville TN Cookeville Theatre Company will present a Musical Theatre Workshop taught by Jennifer Gallegos on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning October 17 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm (off on Halloween) and ending with a workshop showcase open to the public Tuesday, November 7 at 7 pm.  The workshop will be held at The Wesley Foundation Chapel-Theatre, 271 East 9th Street, Cookeville. Cost for the workshop is $50 per person/CTC members $45.  Participants can register by text or email by contacting: Kathleen Gilpatrick at kathleen@cookevilletheatreco.org or (931)783-0534.

The workshop is geared for adults (minimum age is 14 years). Participants will break down and work through a musical theatre song, getting it performance ready. No matter the participants' level of experience, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to build confidence as a performer by learning vocal, movement and acting techniques through group exercises and one on one work sessions.

Class time will consist of warm up exercises, breathing techniques and individual work sessions for character development and blocking/choreography choices.

Our final meeting will be a workshop showcase performance for friends and family on Tuesday, November 7 at 7:00 pm.

Participants need to:

* Choose any song from a musical that you love and have always wanted to perform.

* Have a song memorized and be prepared to sing with karaoke music. We will have a speaker to connect your phone to and also a laptop to play anything from Youtube.

* Bring 2 paper copies of lyrics.

The workshop will be taught by Jennifer Gallegos, a newcomer to Tennessee. Jennifer is a graduate of The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City and has been working as a professional actress, director, producer, choreographer and teacher for the past 30 years.
